What is ingrown hair?
According to Mayo Clinic, ingrown hair happens when a hair grows back after being removed by tweezing, waxing, or shaving. Your hair grows back improperly, which curls into the skin, and then stuck under the skin. When you have ingrown hairs, they often cause tiny, swollen bumps on the skin that may hurt. You will have to remove the hairs from the irritated, swollen skin for everything to go back to normal.
What can you do about ingrown hair, and avoid them from happening again? While you can’t make your hair be less curly, you can remove the hair permanently! After all, you can’t have hair grow back ingrown if they don’t exist!
If you search for hair removal, you will find a few solutions that can reduce how often ingrown hairs happen, or even get rid of them completely.
Waxing or tweezing ingrown hair
You can reduce how often hairs become ingrown with methods like waxing or tweezing, since the hair won’t grow back as quckly. Unfortunately, you will still get hairs misbehaving when they come back, just less often.
Laser hair reduction
Laser hair reduction, also known as laser hair removal, is another popular way that people remove hair that grows back improperly. We have an article on laser hair removal, where we explained that laser may not work for all hair or all people.
With laser, fewer hairs may grow back, and the ones that may come back will likely be finer – while not perfect, this can still be helpful for some people.
