Portland is a wonderful city celebrated for its unique blend of delicious food carts, thriving arts scene, lush parks, and famously weird, welcoming vibes.
Pride season is here, Real You Electrolysis is showing up with something bold, creative, and unmistakably queer. If you’re celebrating Pride in Seattle, don’t end your Pride in June – keep the celebrations going into July!

Real You Electrolysis and the Queer Spirit of Portland
In this vibrant setting, Real You Electrolysis stands proudly as part of the queer and transgender community. The business is trans-owned and operated by a team that reflects the diversity and authenticity of the Pacific Northwest’s queer population. More than sixty percent of the staff identify as transgender or queer, and their lived experience shapes the care they provide.
At Real You Electrolysis, clients are treated with empathy, dignity, and solidarity. The space feels calm and welcoming, designed for people who want to feel at ease in their bodies. Many clients are transgender women seeking gender-affirming electrolysis, but others come simply because they want to feel confident and comfortable in their skin. Everyone is met with the same respect and understanding.
The clinic’s approach reflects Portland’s broader queer values: authenticity, creativity, and compassion. Every procedure is performed with attention to comfort and care, and every client is reminded that their identity is valid and celebrated.
A Culture That Keeps Growing
Queer Portland has never been limited to one neighborhood or one generation. It continues to expand into nearby communities, adapting while keeping its welcoming core intact. The phrase “Keep Portland Weird” still carries meaning, but its heart has always been about freedom—freedom to live truthfully and to connect through kindness.
Real You Electrolysis is proud to be part of that ongoing story. The business represents what makes Portland and its surrounding communities so special: the courage to live authentically and the compassion to help others do the same.
The queer and transgender community in the Portland and Vancouver area remains one of the strongest in the country. Every new café, studio, or clinic that opens its doors with pride contributes to that legacy. Portland continues to be a haven for self-expression, and the people who live here continue to keep it beautifully, wholeheartedly human.
